How Veneers Can Give You a Smile Makeover

How Veneers Can Give You a Smile Makeover

Do you ever wish you could get a completely new smile? Or do you have a specific problem tooth that just drives you nuts? If this sounds familiar, it might be time to consider veneers.

These versatile porcelain shells give Scott Evans, DDS, a way to completely transform one, a few, or all of your teeth, depending on your cosmetic goals. What’s more, this smile makeover option is available from the comfort and convenience of our office in the University Park neighborhood of Dallas, Texas.

Are veneers right for you? Let’s find out.

How veneers work

Veneers give you the ability to change what people see when you smile. They’re custom-designed thin porcelain shells that Dr. Evans permanently bonds to the front of your tooth. That way, instead of seeing the crack or stain underneath, people only see the veneer.

He can also use veneers to change the shape of your teeth, correcting teeth that are too short or are mismatched in size. Similarly, veneers can cover over teeth with an irregular texture to them. If you have a gap between your teeth, veneers can fix that, too.

In short, veneers can correct many imperfections. To get a clearer idea of what you can expect with a smile makeover using veneers, take a look at this before-and-after picture

The process to get veneers

Dr. Evans can complete your smile makeover with veneers in just two trips to our office.

Step 1

On the first visit, he prepares any teeth that will be getting veneers. This means removing a very small amount of enamel from the front surface of the tooth. This allows the veneer to sit flush with your surrounding teeth and your gumline. It also makes it easier to bond the veneer to the tooth.

Also at this first visit, Dr. Evans can whiten any teeth that won’t be getting veneers. That way, he can color-match your veneers to your newly brightened smile, giving you an even more dramatic smile makeover.

Finally, he takes a mold of the prepared teeth so your veneers can be custom-created to fit perfectly in your smile.

Step 2

Once your veneers are ready, you come back to our office. Dr. Evans bonds them in place permanently, and you leave with a completely transformed smile.

A new smile you’ll want to share

With proper care, your dental veneers can last 15 years. If you need replacements, Dr. Evans ensures you get the right veneers to maintain your beautiful smile.
