Porcelain Veneers in Dallas, TX

Dr. Evans helps patients in Dallas, Texas boost their confidence by designing veneers for beautiful smiles.

What are Porcelain Veneers?

Porcelain veneers are thin pieces of porcelain used to recreate the natural look of teeth while also providing strength and resilience comparable to natural tooth enamel. Veneers can change the size, shape, length or even color of your teeth.

Benefits of Porcelain Veneers

  • Easy to match the shade to your existing teeth
  • Thin and lightweight, making them very comfortable to wear
  • Can strengthen the surface of your teeth, particularly when used to repair chipped or broken teeth
  • May cure minor misalignments and gaps

How are Porcelain Veneers Performed?

Dr. Evans will begin by rendering a local anesthetic to numb the targeted area. He will then remove a tiny amount of tooth enamel by using a special dental instrument to make room for the veneer.

At your second appointment, Dr. Evans will temporarily place the veneer on your tooth to check for fit and color. Next, he will use another dental instrument to etch or roughen your tooth somewhat so that the veneer will adhere more solidly. He will then apply bonding cement to the veneer before applying a curing light to help it harden and permanently attach. After removing any excess bonding cement and making final adjustments, your procedure is finished.

Preparing for Porcelain Veneers

Before deciding to have porcelain veneers, you should have a smile analysis performed so that Dr. Evans can determine if veneers are the right choice. You may also wish to try on different veneers to get an idea as to what they might look like on your own teeth.  Cosmetic imaging gives you a snapshot of your mouth in both its “before” and “after” state

Porcelain Veneers Recovery

Since a small bit of enamel is removed, your teeth may feel somewhat sensitive after your first appointment. Using toothpaste or mouth rinse designed for sensitive teeth can help alleviate this sensation. Once your veneers are in place, you should refrain from eating very crunchy or chewy foods for two or three days afterwards.
