Bonding in Dallas, TX

Dr. Evans provides dental bonding for patients in the Dallas, Texas area who want to fix minor imperfections without major headaches.

What is Bonding?

Dental bonding is a process where tooth-colored resin is applied to the teeth and “bonded” with an ultraviolet light to mask imperfections. Once the resin is bonded to the tooth, it is permanent. That does not mean that you will never have to have it touched up or replaced. It just means that it is very unlikely to fall off or break away.

Benefits of Bonding

  • Provides a more natural-looking appearance
  • Does not cause allergies, as is often the case with amalgam fillings
  • Easy to keep clean
  • Durable and lightweight

In addition to providing cosmetic relief, bonding can also be used to fill cavities.

Bonding Before & After

By viewing these before and after photographs of actual patients, you can clearly see how bonding could improve your smile. Keep in mind individual results will vary.

How is Bonding Performed?

Before beginning the procedure, Dr. Evans will mix up a bit of dental resin to use in shaping your teeth. He will adjust the shade as needed in order to match the natural color of your tooth as closely as possible.

The resin, which somewhat resembles putty, is then applied to the surface and smoothed as much as possible. A special hardening light is used to cure the resin so that it hardens and adheres to your teeth.

To finish, Dr. Evans will trim this resin and shape and mold it to the exact shape of your other teeth, and then polish it to give it a natural sheen.

Preparing for Bonding

You may wish to have a full cleaning performed, particularly if you are having bonding added to several teeth at the same time. Bonding usually lasts three to 10 years, with periodic touchups and replacements as needed.

Bonding Recovery

Since anesthesia is not used, you will feel no discomfort after leaving our office. You can feel free to resume normal activities, but may need to refrain from eating or drinking anything for about an hour.

How Much Does Bonding Cost?
